The Edward Christopher Manta is a custom made 40mm diameter dive watch with a 4-piece marine grade stainless steel case with a screw-down case back. And it has some very distinct features.
Crucially, it comes in 5 vibrant colours (with more colours to follow) to suit and even enhance your varying types of clothing and even your moods.
The watch has an internal rotating bidirectional bezel, made from recycled aluminium, with the numerals illuminated by a blue-green Super-LumiNova.
The case is fitted with two colour-coded screw-in tubes and each colour-coded crown is fitted with triple O-rings (the 2 o'clock crown operates the bezel and the 4 o'clock crown changes the time).
The Manta has a striking 3D kaleidoscope pattern dial with applied indexes, illuminated by blue BGW9. And the custom made hands are painted matt black and white and are illuminated by a blue-green Super-LumiNova BGW9 luminance for easy reading in low light.
This dial is encased by a flat sapphire crystal with a triple-coated anti-glare coating on both sides. It's also fitted with hidden O-ring gaskets (most luxury & high end watches are fitted with visible gaskets and their visibility can detract from the look & feel of the watch).
This timepiece is powered by a Swiss made Sellita automatic movement (with 26 jewels), with time hacking, and a power reserve of 38 hours. It also has a water resistance of 200m/660ft.
And each watch comes with colour-coded, custom made, quick-release, 2-piece, FKM vulcanised rubber straps with 2 keepers fitted with an Edward Christopher branded stainless steel buckle. It fits wrist sizes of between 13cm-20cm.
While the vast majority of packaging for high end and luxury watches is voluminous and makes an often appealing and grand design and size statement, we've chosen instead to make a greater packaging statement!
Because ours is based on a reduced use of packaging (we try to use as much recycled paper and cardboard as possible) while keeping up the highest practical and style standards.
So, your watch is still beautifully presented on a cream cushion in our elegant box (in the Edward Christopher brand colour) that contains everything else you need: your cloth watch bag, your watch cloth and your warranty card, as well as the styled protective elements. All contained in one smaller, but still beautifully packaged box!
The watch's name is inspired by the beguiling elegance, distinctive beauty and other eye-catching qualities of the Manta Ray. Because…Mantas are truly special.
